Good news, the government has eased restrictions slightly. So we are now able to open the green for bowling and our green will be opening on Monday June 22nd.

However there are strict government/Bowls England guide lines we must follow so please do not just turn up at the club. We will be operating a booking system which means you will have to telephone and book your session. There will be no league bowling or roll ups it will be bowling on your own or singles i.e against another member.

Bookings will be done using the club telephone only (01553 675766) and the booking system,  for the first week will be open Monday 15th June to Sunday 21st June 10.30 to 12.00.  After the first week, booking will be available from 10.30 to 20.00 seven days a week.

There are 5 pages of guidelines we must follow,. so I will not go through them on this post, but we will be contacting all members by telephone to ensure that when you are bowling you will be complying with guidelines.

Following the last update (suspending the opening of the green)events have moved on somewhat.

The latest situation is, both codes of bowling, Bowls England and Federation have cancelled all county league bowling and all competitions for 2020. All local leagues that we take part in have either cancelled or suspended (awaiting further developments) fixtures for 2020.

We will be following government direction and hopefully restrictions will be lifted before the end of summer. If we get the opportunity to bowl we will be bowling.

So, if we are lucky  enough to start bowling this summer we will keep you informed by telephone this website and the local press. Keep safe everyone and hope to see you on the green very soon.

Since the last news update events have overtaken us. Unfortunately due to Government directives/advice regarding the dreaded Covid 19 virus, our committee has taken the decision to cancel our opening day(the 4th April). 

We will keep a close eye on the Government guidelines and will hopefully be able to schedule another date for opening of the green. Keep watching this website for updates and information.

King’s Lynn “A” team won the Albert Victor League 2019 division two and will be competing in division one next year, well done to the squad,  and John Francis in his first year as a captain.

The end of the outdoor season is fast approaching, so a reminder fo events that will take place after the closing of the green (28th September).

Sunday 6th October 10.00am in the clubhouse, don’t miss it! it is your chance to be involved in the running of the club.

Sunday 27th October 12.30 for 1.00pm at the  “The Ffolkes” our presentation dinner see chairman Tony Pinder for tickets.

Saturday 30th November 6.30 for 7.00pm Xmas Bingo in the clubhouse.

The club will be open for New Years Eve!! do not miss it.

The mens and ladies triples competition took place on Saturday the 14th September. Congratulations to Trevor Oakey, Geoff Upton and Alan Clark winners of the mens triples and Helen Young, Linda Oakey and Marian Upton winners of the ladies triples. There is no stopping Helen this year, her 5th succesful final !! well done Helen.

Well done to all the winning bowlers, and a special mention to Helen who was succseful in the four finals she contested.

On Sunday the 25th August we held our “Ron Pond Trophy” competition. The competition being mixed triples, six teams took part in a close fought contest. Congratulations to Taylor Scott,   Ron Graham and Kath Pinder who were the winning block on the day and are now the proud holders of the”Ron Pond Trophy” 2019. A special well done to Taylor this being her first season bowling.

Well done those who spotted my deliberate mistake, my previous news update should have read champions (2019) NOT (2020) just getting ahead of myself predicting next years results.
